De betoverende omgeving van Rivendell wordt opnieuw gecreëerd in dit magnifieke beeld van Weta Workshop. Gebaseerd op de miniatuur die te zien was in The Lord of the Rings, is dit stuk vervaardigd door dezelfde artiesten en vakmensen die aan de films hebben gewerkt. Het gezamenlijke werk van 14 personen komt samen in dit verbluffend gedetailleerde polystone beeld van 18 1/10 inch breed x 12 1/5 inch lang x 7 9/10 inch hoog, met een gewicht van meer dan 13 pond. Het ademt de unieke sereniteit en rust van het Huis van Elrond.

Meer dan 1.200 uur aan creativiteit en oog voor detail zijn in dit kunstwerk gestoken. Elke boom, elk ornament en elke steen is zorgvuldig overwogen en vervaardigd om het geheel perfect te maken. Rivendell is tot nu toe het grootste stuk binnen Weta’s reeks The Lord of the Rings-omgevingen. De verborgen toevlucht van Rivendell

Rivendell, het thuis van Elrond, werd in het jaar 1697 van de Tweede Era gesticht door de Elfenheer als een toevluchtsoord te midden van de toenemende duisternis in het noorden van Midden-aarde. Onder de bescherming van Elronds Ring van Macht, Vilya, was Rivendell een heiligdom en ontmoetingsplaats voor de krachten van het licht. Het bleef in geheimhouding en veiligheid bestaan tot aan de Oorlog van de Ring en de val van Sauron.

Vrouwe Arwen woonde hier, en koning in ballingschap Aragorn kwam en ging wanneer hij wilde. Bilbo Balings noemde Rivendell zijn thuis in zijn latere jaren, en regelmatig vonden er geheime krijgsraden en bijeenkomsten plaats tussen de leiders van de vrije volkeren. In Elronds bibliotheek werden de erfstukken van Midden-aarde bewaard: Narsil, het zwaard van Elendil dat de Ring van Saurons hand afsneed, en Aiglos, de speer van Gil-Galad, onder andere.

Imladris, het Laatste Huiselijke Huis – de elfennederzetting kende vele namen, terwijl haar paden in geheimzinnigheid en betovering waren gehuld. Gelegen tussen watervallen in een verborgen vallei aan de voet van het Misty Mountains-gebergte bood Elronds huis een veilige haven voor Thorins gezelschap tijdens hun queeste naar Erebor en voor Frodo en zijn metgezellen toen zij bescherming zochten tegen Saurons Nazgûl. Tijdens Elronds Raad in Rivendell werd het Reisgenootschap van de Ring gevormd en begon de zoektocht om de Ene Ring te vernietigen. Zelfs na het einde van de Derde Era, toen de Ringen van Macht verdwenen waren en Elrond over zee vertrokken was, bleef Rivendell nog enige tijd onder de hoede van zijn zonen Elladan en Elrohir.

Based on the miniature featured in The Lord of the Rings, it's built by the same artists and craftsmen that work on the movies. The combined efforts of 14 people reach fruition in this stunningly detailed 18 1/10-inch wide x 12 1/5-inch long x 7 9/10-inch tall polystone sculpture that weighs over 13 pounds. It evokes the singular serenity and peace of the House of Elrond.

1,200 hours of creativity and attention to detail went into this piece. Every tree, every ornament, every brick was considered and produced to make up the whole. Rivendell is the largest of Weta's range of The Lord of the Rings environments so far. The hidden refuge of Rivendell. Home to Elrond, Rivendell was founded in the year 1697 of the Second Age by the Elven Lord as a haven amid the growing darkness in the north of Middle-earth. Under the protection of Elrond's Ring of Power Vilya, Rivendell was a sanctuary and meeting place for the forces of light and persisted in secrecy and security until the War of the Ring and the fall of Sauron, the enemy. There dwelt the Lady Arwen, and king in exile, Aragorn, came and went as he pleased. Bilbo Baggins called Rivendell home in his declining years, and often it hosted secret war councils and discussions among the leaders of the free peoples. The heirlooms of Middle-earth were gathered there in Elrond's library: Narsil, the sword of Elendil that cut the Ring from Sauron's hand, and Aiglos, the spear of Gil-Galad, among others.

Imladris, the Last Homely House - the Elven settlement was known by many names, though its paths were shrouded in secrecy and enchantment. Perched among waterfalls in a hidden valley in the foothills of the Misty Mountains, Elrond's home provided a safe haven for Thorin's company during the quest for Erebor and Frodo's party when they sought refuge from Sauron's wraiths. It was at Elrond's council in Rivendell that the Fellowship of the Ring was born and the quest to destroy the One began. Even beyond the end of the Third Age, when the Rings of Power were no more and Elrond had passed over the Sea, Rivendell remained, at least for a time, in the keeping of Elrond's sons Elladan and Elrohir.
